Award Winner!

 

20140928_160625I am delighted to say that I have won the Sugarcraft category of the 2014 Scottish Baking Awards. A total surprise as all the cakes entered were excellent.

Asiatic Lily cake

I made a two tier autumn-themed wedding cake.  The flavours were toffee with apple and caramel, and a rich chocolate sponge with peppermint cream filling.  The flowers were Asiatic lilys with acorns, oak leaves, ruscus leaves, cotoneaster berries and leaves.

There was also a wee mention in the Sunday Post! Just a shame they got the names and pictures mixed up.
